Mike's Guitar Pick Collection!!
My twenty one-year-old daughter, Diana, and my seventeen-year-old son, Mike, rock. When Diana was in 1st grade, she commented that my drumstick collecting seemed to be a lot of fun and that she wanted to collect “something.” We crawled on our hands and knees, flashlights in hand, through my dark, dusty attic and located the box we were searching for. It had 5 guitar picks I caught in 1977. That started her guitar pick collection. I started trying to grab picks for her at shows I attend. She even CAUGHT one herself at an outdoors concert. These days, college and her love of literature, theater, cinema, and international travel have put rock and roll on the back burner. Diana has given her collection of more than 800 guitar picks to her brother. Mike is a chip off the old block. He’s always looking to attend rock concerts with his Dad or with his friends. Blink-182 is his favorite band. Mike crashed with me into the front row at a Stone Temple Pilots show and CAUGHT two guitar picks from bass guitarist Robert Deleo.
